The COVID-19 pandemic is changing our world. To help Canadian policymakers think differently about growing our economy while still paying for today’s health crisis, we have launched our independent tax review.
As an integral part of the review, we are seeking the views of Canadian business leaders on the federal tax system. We are pleased to be hosting the recently-appointed Governor of the Bank of Canada, Tiff Macklem, for the Bank of Canada’s Economic Progress Report.
The event will take place on September 10 at 12:30 p.m. ET.
Governor Macklem will discuss the September interest rate decision and will explain how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting different sectors and people in the economy.
As a member, you will have the exclusive opportunity to participate in the event by videoconference and submit questions to the Governor.

The G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation and acts as a key arena on a range of global issues, including those affecting Canadian businesses. This includes trade, tax, digital economy, health policy and many others. The B20 is the voice of the private sector to the G20 and represents the global business community across all G20 member states, including Canada.
We are hosting a virtual meeting for you to hear about the work of the G20 and B20 under Saudi Arabia’s presidency this year. We will hear from the Prime Minister’s personal representative to the G20 and Associate Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chris MacLennan, as well as the B20 sherpa, Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Sadoun, and representatives from the Trade and Investment Taskforce and Digitalization Taskforce.
