Importance of Collaboration of Indigenous and non-Indigenous Businesses

On October 7th, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a roundtable in partnership with Export Development Canada (EDC) to discuss how Indigenous and non-Indigenous companies across Canada can work together to seize new export opportunities.

In the wake of COVID-19 many companies have had to reinvent themselves, seeking new customers, new suppliers and new international markets. Forging new business partnerships can support the pivot towards this more sustainable, innovative business model. Working together, Indigenous and non-Indigenous companies can better tackle current challenges, win new customers, and prepare for the post-COVID recovery phase. Join our panel of industry and Indigenous business experts for an in-depth discussion on the opportunities for collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses. Panel members will include representatives from Export Development Canada, Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, a financial institution and a mining organization.

This roundtable will focus on:

• Finding new business opportunities
• Access to capital
• Existing support available to Indigenous/ non-Indigenous businesses
